Educational philosophy/Aims of the curriculum

PE at St Ursula’s is very popular, where pupils seem to really thrive. PE is a compulsory core subject.

There are also many opportunities for pupils to get involved with extra-curricular clubs, fixtures, dance shows, reward trips and much more throughout the year.

KS3 Curriculum

Our curriculum for physical education aims to ensure that all students:

  • Develop competence to excel in a broad range of physical activities
  • Are physically active for sustained periods of time
  • Engage in competitive sports and activities
  • Lead healthy, active lives.

KS3 Programme of study

Each student has 100 minutes of active PE per week. In Key stage 3 the pupils will be required to take part in the following sports:

  • Rounders
  • Dance
  • Athletics
  • Football
  • Basketball
  • Trampolining

Extra-Curricular activities

We currently offer the following extra-curricular opportunities:
Trampolining, Rounders, Football. We also offer Dance, Athletics and Basketball with professional choreographer and coaches, which is totally free of charge.
