Headteacher’s Welcome

Dear Parents and Carers,

Introduction

I am writing to introduce myself as the new Interim Headteacher of St Ursula’s Convent School.

It is an honour to have been given the opportunity to lead and serve at such a unique and vibrant school with a proud and distinguished history.

My first name is Ursula and so to now be the Head of St Ursula’s is an immense privilege and a pinnacle role in a career which has spanned the past twenty-seven years.

I always speak about raised expectations in the schools I have led and will continue to push this throughout my time at St Ursula’s Convent School. In every aspect of school life, my colleagues and I will raise the bar for your child and support them in believing that with determination and hard work, nothing is impossible.

Learning without limits is important to me. Education is about helping a child find their passions and then having the confidence and humility to pursue their dreams. In these unprecedented times, this is even more crucial in how we work with our young people.

During my time in education, I have strived to widen opportunities for students from all backgrounds and worked with stakeholders to enrich the provision in schools. I hope to bring this approach to St Ursula’s Convent and to further develop the wealth of experience on offer to our students.

As an experienced Headteacher, I believe that a successful school depends on all of us working together in partnership. I am committed to working with our local and wider school communities, old and new, in order to identify ways in which we can build on existing relationships as well as develop new ones.  I am keen to quickly establish positive and professional relationships with staff, parents/carers and students alike.

I am particularly looking forward to reigniting philanthropic activities at the school and engaging everyone in the virtue of Charity in the community.

I will focus entirely on our school mission, which is:

  • to ensure that every individual achieves their potential through the pursuit of academic excellence and the nurturing of their gifts and talents
  • to create a caring Catholic community allowing everyone to develop and share in the love of Christ serving the world of today and tomorrow through the relationships we make and the service we provide to others

I look forward to working with you all and would like to assure you that I will work tirelessly to ensure that within the St Ursula’s community, we will continue to serve and love one another.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer break.

Yours faithfully

Ursula Norbert
Interim Headteacher
