COVID-19 (Coronavirus) – update 20-05-2020

Posted on 21st May, 2020

Dear Parent / Carer

We continue in lockdown and although some restrictions have been removed, most people are still working from home.

Your daughters will continue to be supported by their teachers remotely. We have put in place a rota of staff who are calling each household to check that all is well. So far we have managed to contact a very large number of students and I hope you and your daughter have found the calls useful and supportive. The staff who have been phoning are reporting that the girls are happy to chat and have told them how they are getting on. Please continue to encourage your daughter to talk to the member of staff who calls.

As you are aware there is still much discussion around the re-opening of schools. The Government have asked primary schools to open after half term and for secondary schools to offer some ‘face to face’ contact for Year 10, next half term.

Presently we are looking at plans to bring the current year 10 pupils into school for some contact. Let me clarify, it is the current Year 10 we are planning for. All other pupils are to remain at home doing remote learning.
With regards to Year 9 options, we are hoping to finalise these after half term and will let the girls know their final choices as soon as possible.
As it is half term next week, we will not be setting any work. Girls should use this time to relax and do activities other than school work. However, any student who is behind with work could use this time to catch up. We remind you of the suggested activities that we shared ahead of the Easter break.

Please do let us know if there is anything we can support you with and many thanks to any parent who has made contact already.
